10 ARCHITECTURE

Aquatic Centre by Zaha Hadid

Si ispira alle geometrie fluide dell’acqua in movimento, definendo spazi sinuosi e forme avvolgenti all’interno del paesaggio fluviale del Parco Olimpico. Il tetto ondulato lungo 160 m e largo 80 m come un’immensa onda si poggia solo su tre supporti di cemento lasciando libero lo spazio centrale per le piscine.

New Design Museum

Il complesso progetto di ristrutturazione e recupero dell'edificio è stato fatto per gli esterni da Oma (studio di Rem Koolhaas), Aliens and Morrison e Arup, mentre l’architetto John Pawson ha progettato gli interni. Si trova nell’ex sede del Commonwealth Institute, un’architettura modernista del 1962.

Canary Wharf

Est di Londra e a Nord del Tamigi a partire dagli anni ottanta nella vecchia zona portuale dell'Isle of Dogs è stato creato un importante centro direzionale. Si tratta di una zona che negli ultimi decenni ha visto una grandissima crescita economica. Ospita tre fra gli edifici più alti del Regno Unito: il grattacielo One Canada Square con i suoi 235 m di altezza è il più alto di quest'area, Landmark Pinnacle il più alto edificio residenziale d'europa, Newfoundland progettato da Horden Cherry Lee con una interessante stuttura intrecciata sulla facciata, One Park Drive progettata da Herzog & de Meuron, l'HSBC Tower su progetto di Norman Foster ed il Citigroup Centre su Canada Square progettati da Foster e César Pelli & Associates, solo per citarne alcuni.

Coal Drops Yard by Thomas Heatherwick

L'architettura finale celebra la storia e il valore industriale di due magazzini di carbone di età vittoriana , inserendo le attività commerciali su due livelli, messi in collegamento, sia in senso verticale che orizzontale, da nuove passerelle e scale.

Central St Giles

Progettato da Renzo Piano + Fletcher Priest Architects è un complesso di edifici di residenze e uffici, molto caratteristici per le colorate facciate esterne. Ovviamnete la caratteristica distintiva del progetto sono le 22 facciate tra interno ed esterno diverse tra loro. Diverse per forma, inclinazione e altezza al cui interno di colore grigio mentre all'esterno con tonalità di verde, arancio, lime e giallo.

The Shard by Renzo Piano

Prende il nome per le varie sfaccettature e tagli che caratterizzano la facciata. Con i suoi 309,67 metri d’altezza, è attualmente l’edificio più alto di Londra, e fino al gennaio 2020 era il grattacielo più alto d’Europa.

30 St Mary Axe by Foster and Partners

Soprannominato The Gherkin o cetriolo a causa della particolare forma, 41 piani, 180 metri di altezza, la particolare forma è pensata per ridurre i carichi dovuti dal vento infatti è stata sviluppata attraverso studi di fluidodinamica computazionale e test nella galleria del vento.

Tate Gallery by Herzog & de Meuron

La sede del museo di arte moderna, si trova in in ex centrale termoelettrica di Bankside Power Station. Con una ciminiera alta 99,06 m e una larghezza di 200 m fu costruito tra il 1947 e il 1963 e adattato e ampliato per un'adeguamento a spazio museale dagli architetti svizzeri Jacques Herzog e Pierre de Meuron nel 1995.

Lloyds’ Building by Richard Rogers

Una delle opere di architettura più iconiche degli anni '80, l'edificio dei Lloyd's è un esempio dello stile architettonico high-tech. E' un edificio direzionale, sede della compagnia di assicurazioni Lloyd's, inaugurato nel 1986 e nel 2011 è stato tutelato come monumento.

City Hall by Norman Foster

Principio guida del team di progettisti: il risparmio energetico. Ogni cosa dall’orientamento dell’edificio, alle sue linee, alla scelta dei materiali risponde a tale scopo. La singolare forma, di una sfera con piani sfalsati verso l’esterno, raggiunge prestazioni energetiche ottimali riducendo al minimo la superficie esposta alla luce solare.

Today we visit Berlin !!!

Think I'm talking about the classic Brandenburg Gate or the very famous Berlin Wall and the main tourist attractions? No! I'm sorry!

None of this, I'll just tell you about the main, beautiful and spectacular architecture of Berlin! Made by the famous archistars!

I will briefly list the 10 contemporary architectures absolutely to see !!! in my opinion ... how difficult to make a selection! as probably Berlin is one of the capitals with the largest number of contemporary architecture and selecting only 10 is a sacrilege, but I would like to be brief and give you a very quick smattering !!

So let's get started immediately!

1 - Potzdamer Platz which is not just a project but a concentration of very famous architectures

2 - Helmut Jahn's Sony Center very spectacular especially in the evening

3 - the Neue Nationalgalerie , a masterpiece of modern architecture by Van Der Rohe

4 - Axel Springer Campus the brand new library by the OMA studio and then Rem Koolhaas

5 - Lehrter Bahnhof central station designed by the German studio GMP - Von Gerkan, Marg und Partners believe me very interesting

6 - the very famous Reichstag building restored by Norman Foster

7 - the shopping center of La Galeries Lafayette designed by Jean Nouvel

8 - Cube , the latest project by 3XN

9 - James-Simon-Galerie by David Chipperfield

10 - to finish with the very famous Jewish museum of Daniel Libeskind
